Refugee Survival Trust is delighted to have been awarded a 3-year grant of £200,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund, which will enable 40 people at risk of homelessness to stay in our temporary community-based accommodation for up to 18 months.
Fleeing war or conflict coupled with having to navigate the UK asylum system, language barriers, social isolation and stress, places a great toll on a person’s mental health and can severely impact on their physical health. RST can provide a safe place to live, a weekly allowance of £40 and travel assistance to enable individuals to improve their health, rebuild resilience and self-confidence, and progress their asylum claim. We work closely with organisations to link beneficiaries to the support they need.
