Bump & Baby
Breaking down isolation among women seeking asylum in Glasgow
Our Bump & Baby Bus Pass Scheme provides bus passes for new or soon-to-be mothers in the Glasgow area who are seeking asylum.
The bus passes, valid on First services, can make a big difference to women who often have more appointments and meetings during this time, but will find walking especially difficult or tiring.
The bus passes also help women to get out to socialise and meet with their support networks at this time, which is incredibly important for the mental health and well being of new mothers.
Who can apply for a Bump & Baby Bus Pass?
If you are seeking asylum in Scotland and are pregnant or have recently had a baby, you can apply. The two 4-week bus passes can start up to seven weeks before or after the birth of your child.
How do I apply?
Ask your case worker to apply to us for two of our 4-week bus passes for pregnant and new mothers who are seeking asylum. Alternatively, get in touch with any of the following organisations and ask them to refer you to our programme.
