Scottish Refugee Council - against cuts to housing benefits for refugees

Join the campaign.
Scottish Refugee Council - right to work for asylum seekers
The current policy of denying asylum seekers the right to work leads to vulnerable people being left in a state of limbo for prolonged periods of time and increases the burden on the taxpayer. Help lobby to change this policy.
Refugee Council: let Asylum Seekers Work
The Refugee Council is calling for people who've waited more than six months for a decision on their asylum claim, and people who've been refused asylum but are unable to leave the UK through no fault of their own, to be allowed to work to support themselves. Contact your MP through their website.

Justice For All
Justice for All is a campaign to ensure everyone is treated fairly under the law, no matter who they are, how much money they have or where they live. Campaign against this situation.
Student Action for Refugees - Equal Access to Education
People seeking asylum do not have equal access to university education. STAR is the national network of student groups working to improve the lives of refugees in the UK. As a student network STAR believes that this is wrong and that higher education should be equally accessible to all. Support STAR in campaigning to ensure that asylum seekers have Equal Access to higher education.

Current government asylum policy means that many people seeking sanctuary in the UK become destitute. Denied the chance to work, unable to return to their own country and receiving no benefits, they become "Living Ghosts."
