RST supported over 200 children in 2015-16. This should not be happening.

We recently posted information and figures about the destitution grants we provided in 2015-16 (read more here).

RST’s information and comments were subsequently included in The National article: ‘Groups line up to damn way asylum system lets kids down‘ on 12th May 2015. Read the article to find out more.

Charity single in support of RST – available to download now

RST was delighted to be invited to the Launch of the EP What We’ve Got / Four Hours by the Edinburgh based musicians Paper Rifles and Billy Liar on Saturday evening at the Southside Social in Edinburgh.

EP LaunchOver ten acts performed at the sold out gig and the message was very clear that refugees are welcome in Edinburgh.

You can now download the single from Make That a Take Records.

Proceeds from the event, and from sales of the record, will be donated to RST.

Donate to our winter bus pass via MyDonate

It’s another cold and wet January – making it even harder for people who have no money at all to get where they need to go.

You can help by donating to our winter bus pass scheme.

Donations will be used to provide day bus passes for people seeking asylum who are facing destitution. This will mean people can get where they need to go – whether it be the doctor, their solicitor, or attending community events.

Thank you so much for your support from everyone at RST.

Give someone a bus pass this Christmas and support a destitute asylum seeker

Why not get your friends and family something that will make a huge difference this Christmas?

Buy them an RST winter bus pass (or two!) and help a destitute asylum seeker attend important meetings, and participate in community events whatever the weather this winter.

  • Donate £6 per bus pass via our MyDonate winter bus pass event, then…
  • Email jacqueline@rst.org.uk to let us know the date and amount of your donation.
  • We will then email you a voucher you can give to your friends or family (please also let us know if you would like a separate voucher for each bus pass you purchase)

Thank you for your support.

It’s cold outside! To donate to RST’s Winter Bus Pass Scheme text FARE20 £5 to 70070

RST will be running our winter bus pass scheme again through the colder months. £5 will contribute to a day bus ticket for a destitute asylum seeker, meaning they can attend important appointments, for example with their doctor or solicitor.

To support this scheme please text FARE20 £5 to 70070 and help us provide more bus passes on these cold, and often wet, days!

And don’t forget to reply YES to GiftAid if you are a UK tax payer – RST will receive an extra 25% at no further cost to you!
