RST is seeking new Board Members and a new Chair

An opportunity to make a difference for asylum seekers and refugees.

Refugee Survival Trust (RST) informs public debate on issues affecting refugees and people seeking asylum, and provides financial and other support to prevent destitution among these groups. RST is also developing an exciting new project to provide support to homeless asylum seekers. RST wishes to appoint new Board Members and a new Chair following its 2014 AGM meeting, and seeks applicants who have empathy with refugee and asylum issues, strategic vision, good independent judgement, and the ability to work as part of a diverse team.  RST is particularly interested in applicants with the following skills:

  • Management experience in the voluntary sector or elsewhere, including oversight of budgets;
  • Ability and time to represent RST in meetings with stakeholders;
  • Strong communication skills; and
  • Excellent negotiation and partnership building skills.

The Chair and Board Members will be required to attend 6 Board meetings per year.  Board Members will be required to commit approximately 10 hours a month to Board Work and the Chair approximately 3 to 5 hours a week. Reasonable expenses are payable. Further information for the Chair role is available here.

RST is committed to promoting equality and welcomes applications from all parts of the community; in particular from Refugees.

Applications should be made using the RST application form(Ι), application form(ΙΙ) and sent to recruitment@rst.org.uk by Sunday 30th November 2014.

If you have any questions, please contact recruitment@rst.org.uk.  If you would like to discuss the role of the Chair with the current Chair, please contact eileen@rst.org.uk.
