Our Stop Destitution Campaign is up for an Award

We are delighted to announce that the Stop Destitution Campaign has been nominated under the category of Best Campaigner in the Herald Society 2013 Awards.  The joint campaign delivered by Refugee Survival Trust and our partner Scottish Refugee Council between October 2012 and April 2013.  The main success of the campaign was to raise awareness, providing timely news angles for Scottish and UK press and leading to tens of pieces of coverage, as well as a high profile slot on Newnight UK. It also helped to engage public figures including Archbishop Philip Tartaglia as well as a range of faith leaders, and writers such as Jackie Kay, who wrote poems about destitution which she now performs regularly.

The award winner will be announced in Glasgow on Wednesday 20 November.  Exciting times!
